Qualitative In-Depth Interviews/Interviews with Expert
A detailed dialogue in an agreeable atmosphere. Interview guidelines set out the topics to be covered without unduly disrupting the natural flow of the respondent’s comments on the interesting topic at hand.
This in-depth form of questioning makes it possible to probe beneath superficial answers, in order to identify the reasons for specific feelings and actions, that is, to reveal patterns pertaining to motives and attitudes.
As a result of the exact definition of target groups and the in-depth nature of the interviews, small samples (20-60 respondents) are generally sufficient.
The interviews are smoothly conducted in accordance with topics defined in advance, but are open enough to allow respondents to express spontaneous and seemingly unrelated thoughts.
